Team,
Here are the specific prayer targets we are aiming at during the month of September.
We'd be honored if you would consider praying towards these ends as we seek to impact the emerging generation of Atlanta with the Gospel of Grace.
I've included the gathering vision/ mission/ values as well...
Thanks for praying with us/ for us
We are called by God to be an Alternate Atlanta
Our mission is to influence others in order to influence the world
Our values are
a. Connecting with God
We are about drawing people into profound and life-changing encounters with the reality of God and the Gospel of grace.
b. community with others
we seek to broker meaningful and healthy relationships where friendships are developed, character is forged, and spiritual gifts are deployed.
c. contagious to the lost
by relentlessly pursuing those who do not know Christ and through word, relationship, and deeds sharing with them with the good news of the Gospel of grace.
d. commitment to discipleship
we intend to deeply invest in people via intentional equipping and life sharing to make disciples of all nations.
Prayer needs: Sept. 2008 (please, labor with us!!)
1. that we would have a very fruitful start to our new ministry year!
a. We want to be fertile ground for revival (Isa. 62.6-7)
b. Clear articulation of our vision and buy in!
c. Excellence in Executing our ministry plan
2. For our Sunday night series in Sept.: Control > Alt> Delete
3. that God would greatly bless our discipling process with the kind of life change that is reflected in our values (Heb. 4.12)
a. groups would get off to a great start
b. book clubs would start well
4. For an undeniable sense of God in our worship, our conversation, our doings.
We long for the reality of Jesus to permeate and to saturate all we do.
5. For protection from the evil one.. from division, confusion, moral failures
6. For obvious life-transformation

the most important thing about you
How big is your God?
Jesus asked the question: 'who do you say I am?'. How we answer that question determines everything about us.
Listen to how one man answered it... may we endeavor to know him as well..
enjoy

cranking it back up again..
Well, its time to crank the gathering blog back up.
I found this video and think that its content is a great distinctive.
Keller does a good job of representing the attitude we're after in seeing the gatheirng become 'an alternate atlanta'
would welcome your feedback
